Mthr, Canary Wharf

Happy Mother’s Day all you lovely mummies! Are you ready to hear about the Mthr of all new rooftop restaurants? I thought you would be. Luckily I managed to get my visit to Mthr in a week before self-isolation took hold, a pretty good way to spend one of my last days of freedom! Mthr […]

Brindisa, Soho

Born out of Monika Linton, the founder of Brindisa’s love of Spain, the Brindisa brand is now in its 30th year. Brindisa started off as a brand that imported cured meats, hams, cheeses, olives and more from Spain and selling to chefs and shopkeepers across London and beyond. In 2004 they opened ‘London’s first traditional, no-reservation tapas bar’ in Borough Market. Fast-forward to 2020 and Brindisa has five restaurants, in London Bridge, South Kensington, Shoreditch, Battersea and Soho!

LIV, Belgravia

LIV restaurant is a relatively new all-day dining concept headed up by Executive Chef Damien Monley, the antipodean former owner of Flat White Café in Sydney, the place to be for Sydneysiders who are serious about their coffee (so, basically everybody). LIV is located in beautiful (and usually overpriced) Belgravia, just off Sloane Square and […]

Ben’s Canteen, Clapham

A couple of weeks ago I was kindly invited for brunch at Ben’s Canteen, a venue that has long populated my Instagram newsfeed with totally ‘grammable’ brunches – so I was excited to finally see the food in the flesh. Ben’s Canteen describes itself as a ‘relaxed neighbourhood hangout’ – think casual wooden benches, stalls […]

Humble Grape, Canary Wharf

Let me start by saying that, wine being my favourite thing in the world, in my world the grape is far from humble, the grape is queen. I was kindly invited to Humble Grape Canary Wharf to enjoy an informal wine tasting and food pairing, and while I am the furthest thing from a wine […]

Iberica, Great Portland Street

In March I started working on the same road (Great Portland Street) as one of my closest friends, and so naturally, we’ve been meeting up regularly for lunch to try restaurants in the area, and play at being ladies who lunch for an hour or so! I’ve heard great things about Iberica, and I never […]

The Royal Oak, Marylebone

So, Autumn has arrived with a bit of a splash! And, while the thought of cold dark mornings, cold dark evenings, and not being able to day-drink all weekend just because ‘it’s summer’, fills me with dread, the thought of cosy knitwear, log fires and red wine excites me. (It basically just means switching the […]

Hakkasan, Hanway Place

Guess who finally went to Hakkasan? This girl! Yeah, this is pretty much how excited I was all week before I went to the famous Cantonese restaurant. Opened in 2001, Hakkasan Hanway Place is the original birthplace of what has since become an international celebration of oriental fine dining. Alan Yau’s Hakkasan has since become […]

Coqfighter, Soho

If you are as much of a fried chicken lover as I am, you need to make flying down to Coqfighters a priority! The Aussie-owned street-food trader can already be found in both Boxpark Shoreditch and Croydon, but this is its first table-service restaurant and it happens to be located on Beak Street – where […]

Flat Iron, Covent Garden

There is not much that I love more than a steak dinner, but the one thing I do love more is a bargain steak dinner and boy do I have the perfect place for you! I discovered Flat Iron in Covent Garden while studying at King’s around the corner, and it became a firm favourite. I […]
